Long walks on a near empty miles-long beach was what I needed to relax and this location provided just that along with wonderful ocean wave jumping and body surfing. While the home is not directly on the beach, the couple minute walk through the compound was easy. At night with the windows open you could hear the waves crashing. The home was nicely laid out. There was a bit of a constant echo due to all hard surfaces. Furniture was comfortable and adequate. Kitchen was great to cook in. Staff was helpful and picked up items for us at the store given a couple days notice. There was a daily cleaning service. We enjoyed meeting a few of the neighbors. The long drive in on the dirt road makes it far from anything and makes you question whether it is worth leaving to explore anywhere else; but that it also the beauty because you just have to relax and do nothing but read, paint, nap, veg. We arrived during an unseasonable rain and clouds for a few days. That did not bother us but the insects it stirred up did. Bug spray advised. There is a nice pool but we enjoyed the beach. No review would be complete without saying how wonderful it was to watch the release of the small turtles back into the wild. (seasonal)

We spent a week at this beautiful villa. We had never been to Playa Las Tortugas before but would definitely go back! The house was exactly as shown in the photos and had everything that we needed. The staff was very friendly and hard working. This is a great place to go and get away from it all, very relaxing and beautiful. The only down side was the vicious bugs during the morning and evenings, it made it hard to spend time outside on the many lovely patios.

This place is paradise if you want to get away from it all and truly relax this is your beach cottage heaven! The Villa & The grounds make you feel special & blessed to be there! The cooks, property manager & all the help are the best! Don’t plan on night clubs or fancy restaurants it’s not that type of vacation. But if you love tropical nature & first class service then this is your place!

Our family of 4 recently returned home after spending 10 days at Villa los Suenos. We had such a wonderful time we are already talking about returning next year. The villa exceeded our expectations — it was immaculate, beautifully decorated, and had everything and anything we needed and more (beach chairs/umbrellas, snorkeling gear, games, books, comfortable beds…high quality cooking equipment…). Each room had an air conditioner allowing for individual rooms to be cool without wasting energy. Given that we visited in July, it was a lifesaver! The beach is beautiful — simply put. Many times, we were the only people on the >6 km stretch. Waves were not too rough but also large enough for my son to spend hours on end boogie boarding until his fingers wrinkled and lips turned purple. The pool was clean and the water warm. One evening, we had the opportunity to observe a female sea turtle lay her eggs (>100) and to assist staff from the adjacent sea turtle conservation camp collect and transport them to the camp for incubation. An unforgettable experience! The staff were all incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming — not to mention, hard working. The owners were equally helpful. Responses to any and all my questions were prompt and quite detailed.

You know how some places look spectacular in the ads, but very ordinary in person? Well this isn’t one of those places. The home, beach, and grounds at PLT really are as serene and lovely as portrayed in the listing. My wife, 18-mo old son and I just returned from a week’s stay. This was our first real family vacation, and it was the perfect place to get away from it all in comfort. The house is well equipped for families with young kids – with toys for the pool, beach, and house, a pack-n-play, baby monitor, kid dishes and sippy cups, even a training toilet. Modern, spacious house with full zonal AC (not just BRs) and bug-tight screened doors and windows with ceiling fans everywhere, to suit any preference. Personally, I like to listen to the surf at night with the windows open, but if the humidity gets to you, just flip on the AC, close the windows and you are cool in minutes. Both the covered and open lanais are huge. Fully equipped, modern kitchen, gas grill, and extensive entertainment center if you can’t live without the electronics. The entire PLT development also has free wifi (for better or worse) and cell coverage, though you may need to hunt for a spot with good reception. The real treat though is the pristine beach, just a couple hundred yards from the house. In late June we had literally miles of it to ourselves. It is a mellow swimming beach, with no dangerous currents. The PLT pool is another great option, especially for the kiddos, with both a wading shelf and a shallow enclosed end. We used the pool to bribe my son off the beach, and had to use every trick we know to bribe him out of the pool. He never wanted to go in. Once we discovered the popsicle molds in the cupboard, we had our daily ritual figured out – beach, pool, popsicle, nap, repeat. The week flew by. You won’t get tired of the scenery at PLT. Mature coconut palms are everywhere, and the staff is super friendly and efficient. If you do want to venture out, the little beach village of Platanitos just to the north is a great diversion, where you can eat wonderful fresh cooked fish and drink cold cerveza at one of the little mom and pop restaurants on the beach. Stock up on groceries and supplies in PV before heading up, but there are small abarrotes where you can get fresh eggs, milk, local produce, and packaged foods in the town of Zacualpan (about 30 mins away), as well as a pharmacy and other retail services. The locals are friendly and laid back. No timeshare hustlers!

We visited Villa Los Sueños in Playa las Tortugas with my parents and our children (aged 7 and 10). It would be hard to imagine a better place to spend time together. The peace, the beach, the thousands of palm trees, river estuary, turtle camp, wildlife … all of this and more a few steps from the porch. The home is very well equipped and very cozy. There are many places to lounge or dine in company, but also private spaces to retreat to for a nap or to enjoy a book. All rooms are spacious and beds comfortable. Upon our arrival the home was spotless clean and everything worked properly. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We spent our days boogie-boarding and beach combing, bike riding on the beach at low tide, running, playing badminton in the palm groves, swimming in the ocean and the river. Fishing a bit and laughing a lot. I love nature and I would get up for an early bird watching around the gardens, estuary and the palm groves. This region is famous for being home to more than 500 species of birds and you don’t have to walk far from the house to be impressed by the variety of life around here. The development is very well maintained, but remains sensitive to the nature = eco-minded.

We had the pleasure to discover this beautiful villa in this amazing environment that is Playa Las Tortugas, a couple of weeks ago.The villa is so nice, it had everything we needed to make the most of our stay. The rooms are large, the beds so comfortable. And each has a communicating bathroom that is really nice and very useful as well. The balconies enables us to take advantage of the great weather, and enjoy the view (2nd floor). Just bring bugs repellant and you are all set! Last but not least, we also enjoyed the cooking services which were as refreshing as tasty/delicious. An excellent way to enjoy local food in the comfort of your vacation home, for an affordable price. The personal on-site are very nice and helpful. The beach is incredibly beautiful and quiet, which was a first for us… But certainly not a last! Once you have tasted this peace and quietness, I believe you want to do it again, and again. And if you get to accompany baby turtles to the sea, than this amazing journey will be complete!
